Images 9 & 10: The tension between color and black and white. One thing I really notice as I
walk around certain areas of Charleston is the strong colors. Image 9 captures a part of Rainbow
Row, a stretch of colorful homes near the corner of East Bay and Tradd Streets. While at other
locations, I see striking black and white homes, churches, and government buildings accented
by complex wrought ironwork. This house on South Battery is a good example (10).
