4. Art and Emotion
Photography isn’t about the camera. It’s about the emotion of the moment.
Intuitively obvious once you think about it. Not so obvious when you are so caught up with your camera and lost in dials
and settings and......
Each and every moment is unique. It comes only once. It cannot be repeated. Try as we may, a moment once gone is lost to
us forever.
Art - and photography as a form of art - enables us to return to a moment past so that we can emotionally experience it
again. And that is what makes art so powerful. I might be a different person than I was even an hour ago, but I can re-expe-
rience the moment that lives forever in each and every image I have ever created. I can see them anew and rekindle the joy,
sorrow..... all the emotions of the moment.
Art is about seeing the world again. For the first time.
