Exercise Three: Using Depth of Field
1. Check the light meter in your camera and then set the proper exposure (shutter speed, F-stop, ISO).
2. Find the minimum focusing distance and then create an image.
3. Find the minimum focusing distance and then move just slightly closer to the object. Make sure once you have the
minimum focusing distance that you keep the shutter pressed half way down before you move in slightly. What happened?
What is the visual effect you created? How is it different from the first image?
4. If you can, have one of your classmates pose for you. Create a portrait by repeating number 3.
What have you learned?
