Black is much more difficult to photograph than one
would think. It can be highly reflective if over lit. If un-
der lit, important detail can be lost. My goal here was
to make sure that the folds in the dress were visible. I
also wanted to preserve the tonal difference between
the dress and her stockings.
Anna's dress also was layered. One of the layers was
almost see-through. I wanted to make sure I captured
that.
