As gray as this area became,
it had a number of complex
issues that I knew from expe-
rience would require special
attention. Note the “hot spot”
amidst the raised panels that
are already far more gray than
white.

I loved her pose and I loved the way she held her head. This brought the light dramat-
ically over her face, highlighted the detail of the dress, and even followed the contours
of her musculature.

Getting the area where the darkest shadows are found
lit correctly is a real challenge. The danger is that I
could under light them and leave them too black, or,
over light them an lose their drama. | 19
