3 The way she is curled up on the chair creates a very deep
shadow here. The material in the chair is almost visible
but not enough to enhance the overall emotional expe-
rience.
Her skin is also potentially an issue. If the intensity of
4 the light used to light the scene is too much, her skin
will reflect so much light that the detail of the skin will
be lost, or, worse yet, her skin will become a mirror.
5 Most of the detail in her hair is lost as well.
There is a bit of sheen but overall the shadows
are too strong.

This shadow is key. It tells me what the direc-
tion of the light is. I am going to want to do ev-
6 erything I can to keep this shadow, or at least
the hint of the shadow. Doing so will keep the
image looking just as the eye saw it. That in turn
will enhance the emotional experience.
