This diagram shows how the light from the strobes intersected. Clearly, the center of the space was
filled with soft light caused by the "collision" of light from multiple sources. Interestingly, the place-
ment of the narrow soft box parallel to the backdrop proved critical. Were it not there, there might
have been hot spots on the backdrop or very dark shadows behind the models. By placing this soft box
parallel to the backdrop we were able to use it to "push" light back into the space.
The beauty dish continued to be a variable that could potentially change everything. Moving the
beauty dish might have seemed inconsequential, but in fact, it isn't. When placed on the right it cut
across the light from the large soft box. When placed to the left, the beauty dish pushed light in to the
back right corner. Effectively, this would cause the volume of the light in the space to vary significant-
ly between the two lights. While we did work with the light in this position, most of the tine, we placed
