Have you any advise for anyone interested in modeling?
Always be humble and willing to learn. This is something I read in a wonderful book about developing
self-esteem. You are neither greater than nor are you less than anyone else. Your value is always the same.
Regardless of how you show your self to the world - whether you project yourself as someone intelligent or
not, for example - underneath that projection, you are still a diamond. Sometimes you only get one chance
to make an impression so make yours meaningful and positive. It is the best way to get work and to be asked
back for special assignments. No one wants a snide self-entitled person representing them at an event where
you may be meeting others.
How do you select photographers to work with?
That depends largely on how they contact me or how I contact them. If they are from a web based referral
I of course look over their portfolio and the models they have worked with. Sometimes I inquire about shoots
or even read feed back from those who have shot with them. Then I ask if they would email me personally. I
truly believe that if they are really interested in working with me the extra steps are not so burdensome. I ask
for at least a phone interview if not a general "meet and greet" before working together. Safety is always key
and I believe anyone worth working for will respect and understand that. I also ask that anyone I work with
be willing to meet my husband or any escort I may bring with me so that I feel safe. I also want to make sure
someone knows where I am and who I am with. My escort does not stay - usually it's a very brief meeting
and never an issue. I feel that it is ALWAYS important in any form of business that the person you deal with
always feels safe and comfortable.
