You have heard it time and again - make sure

that the light is in front of and/or directly

on whatever you are photographing. Well,

as we demonstrated at WPPI this year, that

simply isn't true.

At WPPI we had the pleasure of working with

New York based fashion photographer, San-

dy Ramirez, in Pentax's booth. It was a great

test of our skill and our lighting methodolo-

gy. In this edition of Lighting the Un-lightable,

we will explore how managing the volume of

light can require some interesting and unex-

pected techniques.
