1 Where do you live and how long have you need there?

Jamestown, NC, since 1980

2 How long have you been doing photography? How did you get interested in pho-

tography?

Took a year of photography courses in college as part of my graphic design ma-

jor...this was pre-digital, so I shot with film and worked in darkroom.

My interest in photography began in those classes, and continued off and on

through the years w/ various film cameras. I got seriously interested when digital pho-

tography became a reality. The ability to shoot, retouch, and almost immediately in-

corporate photos into my design work was a huge plus, and a real motivating factor for

improving my photographic skills.

3 What camera - make and model - do you have?

A Nikon D5100.

4 What is your favorite subject to photograph?

I'm attracted to color, texture, ornament, detail, and interesting plays of light...what-

ever the subject. I especially like capturing people, and nature up close in macro. In

addition to design, I have a real estate business, so I've shot many properties & inte-

riors. It's enjoyable when I have an architecturally interesting property to work with...

and if not, I challenge myself to find an interesting angle or some way to make the

photo stand out. I also shoot a lot of parties and events and enjoy the spontaneity of

expressions I get when people are having fun just being themselves.
